Participation in 232nd ECS Meeting, National Harbor, October 1-5, 2017

Dr Ioannis Daniilidis, of the ELKEME Surface Science & Coatings department participated in the 232nd Meeting of the Electrochemical Society at National Harbor, MD from October 1st through to October 5th 2017.  During the meeting, the short course of “Battery and Battery Material Development Using Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry” was attended.  The main research focus in this meeting evolved around the technologies and future trends of the battery systems and their applications, as well as on issues of metallic corrosion and degradation of materials, especially Aluminum and Steel alloys, as outlined by the former US secretary of Energy and Nobel-prize winner in Physics (1997) Prof. St. Chu. Other areas that were discussed were Electrodeposition, Industrial Electrochemistry and Electrochemical Engineering, Nanocarbons, Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry, and Sensors.
