Mr Ioannis Athanasoulias (MSc Material Scientist) participated in the 18^th European Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry (EWCPS`2019) which was held in Pau (France) from 3 to 8 February 2019. Applications of the latest developments in the field of plasma spectrochemistry were presented during conference’s sessions including laser ablation, isotopic dilution, speciation, metallomics and glow discharge. The participant also attended a short course on “Metrology for spectrochemical measurements” and one more on “Single particle and single cell analysis”. Finally, a guided visit to Institute of Analytical Sciences and Physico-Chemistry for Environment and Materials (IPREM) took place, in which the visitor had the chance to see several laboratories equipped with the latest high-end instruments on the fields of analytical chemistry, surface and polymer science, environmental chemistry and microbiology.
