The invited paper with the title “Microstructure Evolution and Formability of ZnTiCu strips” authored by Dr. George Pantazopoulos, Dr. Athanasios Vazdirvanidis, Mr. Anagnostis Toulfatzis and Mr. Andreas Rikos, was presented by Dr. George Pantazopoulos in the International Conference on Frontiers in Materials Processing, Applications, Research and Technology (FiMPART 2017) in Bordeaux, France, July 9-12, 2017.
In the present study, the microstructural evolution occurred in Zn-Ti-Cu alloy 0.7 mm thickness strips after final cold rolling and post heat treatment was analyzed and discussed employing light optical and electron microscopy techniques, comparing two different process routes: ingot metallurgy and continuous casting. The tensile and creep properties as well as bending formability were also addressed as a function of the applied process route and the extent of the involved homogenization and post-heat treatment.
