The paper with the title “Influence of Ammonium Polyphosphate on Fire Retardant properties of Magnesium Hydroxide/Polyethylene blends” authored by Dipl. Eng. E. Spiropoulou and Dr. D. Voulgaris from the Surface Science and Coatings Department of ELKEME S.A was presented on July 3rd, by Ms. E. Spiropoulou in the poster session of the 16th European Meeting on Fire Retardant Polymeric Materials (FRPM 2017), 03-06 July 2017, Manchester, United Kingdom. This paper addressed the influence of the gradual addition of Ammonium Polysphosphate, in place of the percentage of Magnesium Hydroxide or PolyEthylene of the original blend, on the Fire Retardant (FR) properties of the blends. The collected results revealed the differences in the thermal degradation behavior and FR properties among the blends.
