Dr. Marianthi Bouzouni, Dr. George Pantazopoulos and Dr. Sofia Papadopoulou participated in the 12th THERMEC international conference, which took place in Vienna, Austria from the 2nd to the 7th of July 2023. In this conference academia, engineering and industry presented innovative international R&D work regarding the aspects of processing, fabrication, structure/property evaluation and applications of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, composites including biomaterials, high temperature materials, fuel cells/hydrogen storage technologies, batteries, super capacitors, thermoelectric materials, nanomaterials for energy and structural applications, aerospace structural metallic materials, bulk metallic glasses, UFGM, TMP of fission materials (fuel cladding, structural), high entropy alloys, materials & technologies in fusion reactors, additive manufacturing, smart/intelligent materials, modeling & simulation, welding/Joining- FSW-P, interfaces/Grain boundaries & neutron scattering /X rays studies and materials performance of advanced materials.
Dr. G. Pantazopoulos served as chairman in a conference session: Composites 1. Following three studies were presented/concluded by ELKEME members: 1. “Investigation for the correlation between metallurgical condition and grain boundaries misorientation on the precipitation behaviour of 6063 extruded alloy” by A. Vazdirvanidis, S. Papadopoulou, E. Stachouli, P. Aslanis and A. Rikos, 2. “Effect of specific weight on compression behaviour of 3D printed porous structure made of Al alloy” by K. Monkova, P. Monka, G. Pantazopoulos, A. Toulfatzis, S. Papadopoulou and M. Korol and 3. “Simulation of the microstructural evolution during quenching and partitioning of a medium carbon low alloyed steel” by M. Bouzouni, E. Gavalas and S. Papaefthymiou.
