Phivos Aslanis, George Pantazopoulos, Eva Stachouli and Paul Stavroulakis participated in the 7th International Conference of Engineering Against Failure which took place in Spetses, Greece from the 21st to the 23rd of June 2023. In this conference academia, engineering and industry presented innovative international R&D work regarding the design against engineering failure, the implementation of appropriate guidelines against failure, the development and application of concepts and technologies to prevent of failure, the use of both, novel and established approaches, technologies, and tools for failure analysis, as well as the deep understanding of the underlying failure mechanisms and the identification of the failure root causes.
Following four studies were presented by ELKEME: 1. “Investigation of artificial aging response to pre-deformation by microstructural examination, microhardness testing and differential scanning calorimetry of Al 6063 extruded profile” (E. Stachouli, G.-K. Lamnatos, S. Papadopoulou, A. Rikos, P. Aslanis, A. Vazdirvanidis), 2. “Evaluation of the susceptibility of Refractory Multicomponent alloys to Thermal Shock towards the improvement of their manufacturability” (R. Salvarado, P. Stavroulakis, G. Pantazopoulos, R. Goodall), 3. “Tensile properties of 3D printed Inconel 718 cellular specimens”, (K. Monkova, G. Pantazopoulos, P. P. Monka, A. Toulfatzis, K. Lengyelova, S. Papadopoulou) and 4. “Contribution of texture analysis on the formability examination of 6061 Al alloy for the automotive industry” – poster presentation (P. Aslanis, G. Symeonidis, S. Papadopoulou, A. Rikos, E. Stachouli, A. Vazdirvanidis).
George Pantazopoulos served as chairman in three conference sessions: 1. Characterization of Fractures Part I, 2. Characterization of Fractures Part II and 3. Advances in Fracture Analysis of High-Performance Metals and Alloys: Experimental Investigations and Numerical Modelling.
