Sofia Papadopoulou from the Metallography and Electron Optics Dpt. defended successfully and presented her Ph.D. at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) on 22/12/22. Her Ph. D. was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Papaefthymiou and took place under the collaboration of three parties: ELKEME, NTUA, and ELVAL. The scope of the Ph.D. thesis entitled “Optimization of the microstructure of aluminum products for high value-added applications” was the thermomechanical control of the 3104 aluminum alloy rolling production process for high-added value applications through the deep understanding and control of the crystallographic texture.
